# Send your first batch of data SendCrypt is a client that allows you to send encrypted sensitive data using the SFTP protocol without relying on any third-party services. This means that you don’t need to install any library or dependencies and you don’t need to make some complicated configurations. In this guide, we’ll go through the setup of your first project to send your first batch of data. # Projects SendCrypt relies on the concept of projects which are, simply put, a specific configuration to use to encrypt and transfer data. It’s the recommended way to add a project. :::info To be able to add a remote project, you need to be a member of the project on . ::: You can add a project remotely by clicking on the **Add remote project** button. Then, select a specific project and the fields will be automatically filled with the requested values. Finally, click on **Save** to save your new project. ## Adding a project manually :::warning This option is recommended for advanced users only as it requires some technical knowledge. ::: You can add a project manually by clicking on the **Add project** button. If that’s not the case, you can follow [this guide](/doc/configure-sendcrypt-1dhTXiOj5T). Click on **Send** in the left navigation menu. ## Add files SendCrypt only supports files and cannot transfer folders. You can add files by dragging and dropping them in the table or you can click on **Add files** in the top right which will open a dialog to manually select the files you would like to add. When you added all the files that you want to send, simply click on the **Send (X files)** button. If your PGP key is protected with a passphrase, you will be prompted with a dialog asking you to fill your passphrase.
